Hiking La Malinche (Malintzin)
La Malinche (Malintzin) is the 6th higest mountain in Mexico (4.420 m -14.500 ft) and most of the year remains without snow. Therefore it’s a much easier climb than its neighbors Pico de Orizaba and Iztaccihuatl. Anyway, bad weather conditions, bad planning or lack of physical condition may turn this climb into an unforgettable one.

Excelente servicio .

Best hiking agency experience so far. Professional and motivating guides, excellent equipment and very well organized. We did the 2 nights & 3 days tour to the Iztaccihuatl and we were glad to do it with 3Summits. They gave us all needed equipment (from tent to clothes to boots) for free and even brought us missing stuffs from the town when we were in the base camp. The communication could not have been better and the price is very fair for that. High recommendation!

We did a 3 day and 2 night trip on the Iztaccíhuatl and we could not have had better guides than Álvaro, Elisa and Christian - thank you so much!! The organisation and communication before the trip was nearly perfect and very professional! The food and especially the hot tea was really good as well and gave us plenty of energy. 🙂 Most importantly, we felt very secure the whole time and Álvaro was very patient with us and still pushed us to our limits so we made it to the summit!! Thanks for everything, that was an amazing experience! 🙂

La Malinche Gallery
The most common route, due to its beauty and accessibility is beginning at “Las Cabañas del IMSS” (3.330 m – 10.950 ft) were we leave our car. From there we begin walking through a beautiful high altitude forest. Sort of half through the climb, the forest leads to a low and alpine vegetation and further on to a sandy and rocky terrain where we get some spectacular view from the outstanding Pico de Orizaba at one side and to the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl at the other. Finally we are forced to rock climb a little to reach the summit of this beautiful volcano.
To take into consideration:
To summit La Malinche you must be in a good physical condition and your body acclimatization process must be properly carried out.
Depending on your experience, your acclimatization, your time, etc. we suggest the best program scheldule for you to maximeze your summit options.
Also, if you have doubts about your level of fitness, we can send a personalized training program designed to climb mexican volcanoes so that you don’t suffer from physical exhaustion on summit day.
We operate locally and with full time profesional guides, what means that prices are always lower than in your home country.
